Gifts that Give Back

The Gifts of Time and Talent

Columbus Classical Academy deeply values the partnership of parents in the classroom and within the greater educational institution. Generous volunteering of time and talent is paramount to fostering a dynamic institution. Parents, by sharing their unique gifts and dedicating their time, not only enrich the school’s resources but also model the virtue of charity. Such alliances enhance the experiences of faculty and scholars, creating a more supportive and cohesive community. This partnership cultivates a sense of belonging and investment in the school community, contributing to the school’s development and success. In what ways can you make the most of your time and talent?
  • Volunteer for an existing project – young schools have many projects that assist with furthering the vision. These projects are a wonderful place to start.
  • Shape your desire to volunteer to your availability – there are many events that take place outside of school hours that need your help.
  • Volunteer your expertise.
  • Consider ways in which you can help with fundraising or community engagement events.

The Gift of Treasure

You enrolled your child at CCA because you were attracted to the curriculum, the culture, the faculty, and the mission. You searched for an excellent school rooted in knowledge and virtue. You found it at CCA. Your gift allows us to sustain it.

Frequently unasked questions about why CCA desires both tuition and donations…

Q: My family is already paying tuition. What does my child receive when we donate financially as well?

A: For schools free from support by the state, tuition does not cover the full cost of educating the child which also includes operating and facilities expenditures especially as we grow to full capacity. Your gift supports the people and programs that make CCA special. There is truly nowhere in our area providing the type of rigorous curriculum and virtuous learning environment alongside the incredible school culture and deeply knowledgeable faculty and staff that CCA has established. Your child is encountering rigor and discipline all while acquiring deep knowledge as he/she is surrounded by adults modeling virtue. Gifts are necessary because our school gives your child access to so much more than the cost of tuition covers.

Q: CCA has a beautiful building, large classrooms, and room to grow. The school doesn’t look like it needs money. Why should I give?

A: It is easy to overestimate how affluent private schools are. Charging tuition and being blessed with attractive facilities may naturally lead someone to assume that the school is wealthy, and the financial needs are minimal. However, on-going facilities maintenance and full acquisition of the building will be prioritized as future projects.

Q: How does financial assistance fit into the fundraising picture?

A: CCA does not accept assistance from the state. Because of this, in order to offer financial assistance, our school is dependent upon the SGO and a percentage of expected tuition revenue. As our school continues to grow to full enrollment while maintaining the culture we set out to create, gifts from private donations help to make the school affordable to a wider range of students of economically diverse backgrounds.

Q: Are there additional reasons to give?

A: Yes. Many people enjoy the recognition that comes from being one of the school’s supporters, others enjoy making new contacts through fundraising opportunities, and your donation is tax deductible.By joining our Veritas Giving Society, you will receive many benefits such as reserved seating for all public events, special recognition in the Annual Report, and a commemorative welcome gift plus annual literature selection. Please see the full Veritas Giving Society brochure for membership levels and additional benefits.

Q: How much of a difference can my gift really make?

A: CCA has many fewer supporters than large charities, universities, or other well established private academic institutions. Because the number who give is small but the need is large, every gift in any amount will make a difference. This reasoning leads many families to make their child’s school a philanthropic priority.
