Justice requires honesty

Justice requires honesty – that’s an important part of our honor code. You have to be truthful with yourself and with others. Afterall, the guilty must confess and the innocent never should. To be just is to give others their due – to be fair. This may be a reward or a consequence. It may also be an honest answer – even if the answer is hard to hear, or it may be a compassionate action – even if you don’t feel like being kind. Think about this the next time you bend the truth to make yourself look innocent or to make another look guilty – if you want justice and to be just – it starts with honesty.
