Laughter Drives Winter from the Human Face

Wed 3/20/2024 7:10 AM

Victor Hugo once said: “Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.”  Well, today is the first day of spring.  So, this week, I’m going to see if I can make you laugh a little bit.  We may not be able to drive winter from Ohio yet, but we’ll see if we can drive it from our faces.

Now, some of you probably think “What does Mr. Gibson know about laughter?  He’s so serious, he probably doesn’t even know how to laugh.”  But you’d be wrong.  In fact, I have all kinds of great dad jokes to share with you.  And don’t worry, if you don’t laugh at this one, there will be more.

A guy said to God, “God, is it true that to you a billion years is like a second?”
God said yes.
The guy said, “God, is it true that to you a billion dollars is like a penny?”
God said yes.
The guy said, “God, can I have a penny?”
God said, “Sure, just a second.”

e. e. cummings said that “the most wasted of all days is one without laughter.”  If you don’t laugh at my jokes, no worries—there will be some occasion today for laughter.  After all, it is the first day of spring.

Have a wonderful day.
